The Brandenburg series 566 is a range of miniature power supply modules, designed to operate from a 10V dc supply. Their low power and low ripple characteristics make them suitable for photo-detector biasing and similar applications. Further reduction in ripple may be achieved by adding an external filter capacitor. An input filter circuit guards against feedback of ripple into the supply. High efficiency, high frequency power conversion is used, the high voltage transformer being wound on a ferrite pot core. This minimises external magnetic fields and makes the modules suitable for incorporating into densely packed electronic assemblies. The output voltage varies in proportion to the input voltage over the input range of 2 to 10Volts. The power rating of the modules is approximately 100mW (see table).
Full encapsulation is used to give complete protection against humidity and a wide operating temperature range. The modules are designed for printed circuit mounting by means of the connection pins.
