Description
There are two meters in the range, the first meter offers voltage measurement up to 40kV and the second meter offering measurement up to 60kV. Both offer high input impedance drawing <10ľA at their maximum input voltages and have three selectable ranges covering : 0-2kV with 0.1V resolution 0-20kV with 1V resolution and 0-40kV / 60kV with 10V resolution.

These HV meters are battery operated having integral batteries accessible from the rear, with the display incorporating a low-battery indicator. A precision recorder output is also provided at 10mV per kV of the meter input, regardless of the range selected. Both positive and negative voltages may be measured without the need for switching, this allows the user complete freedom to probe dc voltages up to 40kV of either polarity.

For convenience of reading, the meter may be angled when on a bench. The high voltage connection is made by a locking coaxial connector, supplied with the model 149-01 & 149-03 is a mating connector and 2m lead, fitted with a 40kV hand-held probe, other connectors and probes are available through the Brandenburg full line catalogue. The 149-02 & 149-04 is supplied with a mating connector with 1m of unterminated screened cable, custom cable assemblies are also available on request.


CAUTION
Great care must be taken when making measurements in high voltage circuits. ALWAYS ensure that the HV Return terminal of the meter is grounded. DO NOT use hand-held probes on supplies that are potentially lethal.
